My first home made cosplay; preparing for Anime Expo !
After days of working so hard on my Mononoke cosplay, I am finally complete. For my first home made cosplay, I'm really impressed with the results. I made my hoodie and faux fur cape using an old spirit hood, cutting the ends and hot gluing them to a the cape. (It was a lot harder than it sounds, also I don't know how to sew at all so everything was hot glued). I then used a white t-shirt to cut up into San's apron.
necklace pieces were made out of air-dry clay . Ears were glued over the spirit hood ears with fabric paper.
The hardest part of the cosplay itself was the mask. First paper machete, then air dry clay was placed over it. Since air dry takes 3 days to dry, I noticed my mask was cracking so I just had to paper machete over the mask and paint over it. The mask process took about a month to do, only because I was slacking off a bit and working on other cosplays.
The spears I made (aren't shown in the photos) were made out of paper machete, cardboard, lots of tape, and spray paint. Armbands were made out of elastic fabric braids.
The black dress I am wearing was an old dress I found in my closet that fit perfectly for San's costume. Dress is from Forever 21.
This is just a sneak peak of the cosplay, you don't get to see my full face just yet so stay tuned!
